Stilo ST5 FN (Formula-Naked)

Full Visor, No Electronics.

The Stilo ST5 FN, a helmet with a full visor, no electronics and no compromise. The ST5 FN in the FIA 8860 Zero configuration is what you'll see on the heads of F1 driver, Valtteri Bottas. The ST5 FN has no built-in electronics, unlike the F and GT models so leading to a sleeker design as it does not have the side ports in the cheek area, which you may think is to aid aerodynamics but in actual fact has very little difference in wind tunnel testing.

For full regulation F1, GP2 or GP3 have to use the visor with Stilo's Zylon Visor Protector to meet current standards, but this isn't a requirement for other championships unless you want to protect yourself to the max. The ST5 FN is available with or without Hans posts, if not required the helmet becomes an ST5 KFN which is commonly used for adult Karting but would also make a good track day helmet where a HANS device is not required (these can be retrofitted at a later stage if required). A full range of ST5 visors are available for the FN model allowing you to adapt to the weather and lighting conditions while achieving the look you desire.

The ST5 GT is fitted with HANS posts as standard, and the inner pads are customisable for the perfect fit - a service available FREE of charge and only at Nicky Grist Motorsport. There are three shell sizes in the ST5 Range: small, large and extra large but all offer the smallest possible profile.

Stilo ST5 R (Rally)

Full Face Rally Helmet

The brilliance of the ST5 range isn't limited to circuit racing; for anyone wanting the added protection of a full face helmet in a rally car, the ST5 R (Rally) is the choice for you. Drivers in a rallycross (RX) series also prefer the ST5 R is its design is more protective when on track with other cars.

The ST5 R is constructed in the same meticulous way as the rest of the ST5 range, but it differs in two key areas: unlike the track-oriented helmets it features full WRC intercom kit with padded earcups for maximum noise cancelling, but also has a deeper opening with an extra trimmed edge offering greater peripheral vision in the car. The same shell compositions are on offer and the ST5 R also has a range of Stilo's helmet accessories to fine-tune its look.

Helmet Fitting Guide

Stilo Helmets are available with two shell sizes: small and large. These shells cover everything from 55 (S) to 63 (XXL), but as a special order, a 54 (XS) and a 64 (XXXL) are available with exceptions in the ST5 CMR (only available in the small shell) and the Carbon Piuma/8860/Zero WRC DES (available from 54-61). As a result, no matter what size or shape your head is, a Stilo helmet should be able to accommodate you with the help of our completely free custom fitting service.

We take helmet fitting very seriously, and if at all possible we'd recommend you come and visit us either in our showroom (HR30EL) or at an event, but we appreciate that's not always possible.

The key thing to remember is not to simply take the circumference measurement and buy a helmet based on that size. We need to look at the width and length of the head also, as that can dramatically affect the helmet size you need.

ST5 CMR is only available in a SMALL shell only. Carbon (Piuma/8860/Zero) WRC DES helmets are only available in sizes 54-61.

How To Measure Your Head

At Nicky Grist Motorsports we understand the importance of a well fitting helmet. Get it right and you are on a fast track to optimum performance, but get it wrong and you’ll suffer distractions and discomfort that can put your safety at risk.

Ideally, we’d like to see you face to face and give you the full benefit of our free fitting service where we can fine-tune the fit for you, but if that’s not an option we can do our best to fit you, as long as you can provide us with the following measurements:

1. Circumference

Measure around your head with a tape measure. This must be above the ear and while you are wearing a hood (if you use one).

2. Length

Using callipers or similar device, measure the front to the back of your head. This needs to be the furthest away points.

3. Width

Again use a tool or fabricated device to measure the width of your head at the widest points.

Callipers

These are quite a specific tool and we appreciate that not everyone will have a set lying around. If you are stuck, you might be able to fabricate something, but please get in touch and we can advise you further.

If you need any more help and advice, please don't hesitate to contact us:
