All Smiley in the BTCC Jack Sears Trophy

A trio of top ten Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship finishes at Thruxton sees Chris Smiley take the lead of the Jack Sears Trophy after Round 9 of the series.

In very hot conditions and in front of a huge crowd, the Northern Ireland driver finished 10th twice and ninth once at the Hampshire track – after a great day-long performance in his BTC Norlin Racing Honda Civic Type R. He is now four points clear of Dan Cammish (Halfords Yuasa Racing Honda).

Thirteen drivers have scored points in this year’s Jack Sears Trophy, which is open to drivers who have never scored an outright BTCC podium position before the start of the 2018 season.

The top prize for the Jack Sears Trophy is a Stilo ST5 GT Carbon helmet supplied by Nicky Grist Motorsports.
