Elfyn Evans’ fans make tracks for Myherin

Myherin is the place to be on Friday if you’re an Elfyn Evans fan – just head for the 23 foot long Elfyn’s Corner banner and you’ll be in good company to watch the 28-year old Welshman whiz by!

Co-driven by Daniel Barritt, Elfyn will be aiming to become the first Welsh driver to win Wales Rally GB – as he contests the event in a P1 Advanced Racewear backed M-Sport Fiesta WRC. Having made his WRC debut on home soil with the Ford Fiesta ST in 2007, Elfyn won his class and continued to shine thereafter – a WRC2 victory in 2013 quickly followed by a career-best fifth place finish on his world rally car debut in 2014.

With the Welsh fans behind them, the all-British pairing will be keen to deliver another strong performance this week.

“There’s nothing quite like rallying at home and we’re in for a classic Wales Rally GB this year,” says Elfyn. “The iconic stages, the weather, the night stages, the long days – this year’s offering has it all and it’s that sort of challenge that I really enjoy. I’m looking forward to it and to playing my part in what could be a really historic event for the team.

“It’s always amazing to see the Welsh fans out on the stages, and it’s true that their enthusiasm gives you that little bit extra. We’ll have to wait and see how the conditions suit our package, but we’re hungry for a strong result before the end of the year and will be giving it our all this weekend.”
