Nicky Grist was the guest of honour at the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship Gala Prizegiving ceremony on Saturday night, where he presented the Nicky Grist Motorsports 1400 Awards to William Mains and his co-driver Claire Williams.
The rapid Vauxhall Nova duo enjoyed a fantastic season, scoring a perfect five maximum scores from five rounds to dominate the 1400cc category.
The phrase ‘giant-killing’ is often used, but as an example of their exceptional speed and commitment they finished 21st overall on the opening Tour of Epynt round, coming home just nine seconds behind a Subaru Impreza WRC and winning their class by seven and a half minutes!
Will and Claire each receive a trophy and a £100 voucher, which they can spend on anything they wish in the Nicky Grist Motorsports range.
