Smiley stars at Rockingham, as Cammish leads BTCC Jack Sears Trophy

Chris Smiley was the star of the Jack Sears Trophy at Rockingham, scoring a magnificent maiden Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship race win to go with the fourth and seventh place finishes he’d recorded earlier in the day.
The outstanding performance has put the BTC Norlin Racing Honda Civic driver just 30 points behind Dan Cammish, who looked like he was about to edge clear in the Jack Sears Trophy. The Halfords Yuasa Racing driver finished fifth and 10th in two races, but ran wide in the damp middle race conditions and finished 21st.
The Jack Sears Trophy, which this year is open to drivers who have never scored an outright BTCC podium finish, has received a record 19 entries. One of the latest to join is Ricky Collard, who replaced his father Rob at Team BMW.
The winner of the Jack Sears Trophy receives a Stilo ST5 GT Carbon helmet, supplied by Nicky Grist Motorsports.
