The Stilo ST5 CMR Karting Helmet benefits from the latest technology some of which are the same as the other ST5 helmets in the range. With looks that are almost identical our top of the range ST5 Zero helmets as used in Formula 1 by Valtteri Bottas.
The ST5 CMR is also being used by young British kart racer of the year, Harry Thompson in both his Red Bull UK and European 2018 programmes, and Taylor Barnard in his European exploits.
Manufactured in a Kevlar carbon construction, it's not only lightweight but very strong. Stilo's ethos for motorsport helmets: safety, comfort and functionality are paramount and from a company that is only produced motorsport helmets you can guarantee that there is no compromise in what they do.
The Stilo ST5 CMR has an improved interior giving an excellent fit with extreme levels of comfort due to its dual density interior foam lining - once worn you'll never change back. The ST5 CMR helmet has to be used before you truly appreciate the levels of comfort. The tried and tested, the smooth black lining has a proven durability and a finish that looks great which is why it is in the ST5 CMR Karting helmet.
The Stilo ST5 helmet range has a visor design with a central visor locking system, a feature that will really benefit karters. This new symmetrical visor offers excellent vision and the centrally located locking system has dual opening positions allowing adjustment for the visor to be slightly open for extra airflow, this preferred by some karters in damp conditions or left completely sealed. More importantly in both of these positions, the visor is locked and will never fly open.
The Stilo ST5 CMR comes with a 3mm thick FIA F1 standard visor - adding a dramatic improvement in safety. Available in a large range of different finishes and tints, we also have coloured Irridium options that have been added for a totally bespoke finish. In addition, a double glazed option is available for racing in wet and cold conditions to prevent misting up issues.
There are also a full range of spoilers available for any aerodynamic adjustment that may be needed, but also giving the helmet a great look.
Available in gloss white or radical matt black exterior finish, the ST5 CMR is homologated to the very latest Snell CMR 2016 standard.
Stilo Helmets are available with two shell sizes: small and large. These shells cover everything from 55 (S) to 63 (XXL), but as a special order, a 54 (XS) and a 64 (XXXL) are available with exceptions in the ST5 CMR (only available in small shell) and the Carbon Piuma/8860/Zero WRC DES (available from 54-61). As a result, no matter what size or shape your head is, a Stilo helmet should be able to accommodate you with the help of our completly free custom fitting service.
We take helmet fitting very seriously, and if at all possible we'd recommend you come and visit us either in our showroom (HR30EL) or at an event, but we appreciate that's not always possible.
The key thing to remember is not to simply take the circumference measurement and buy a helmet based on that size. We need to look at the width and length of the head also, as that can dramatically affect the helmet size you need.

How To Measure Your Head
At Nicky Grist Motorsports we understand the importance of a well fitting helmet. Get it right and you are on a fast track to optimum performance, but get it wrong and you’ll suffer distractions and discomfort that can put your safety at risk.
Ideally, we’d like to see you face to face and give you the full benefit of our free fitting service where we can fine-tune the fit for you, but if that’s not an option we can do our best to fit you, as long as you can provide us with the following measurements:
1. Circumference
Measure around your head with a tape measure. This must be above the ear and while you are wearing a hood (if you use one).
2. Length
Using callipers or similar device, measure the front to back of your head. This needs to be the furthest away points.
3. Width
Again use a tool of fabricated device to measure the width of your head at the widest points.
Callipers
These are quite a specific tool and we appreciate that not everyone will have a set lying around. If you are stuck, you might be able to fabricate something, but please get in touch and we can advise you further.
