What makes your racing balaclavas so high-quality?

A high-quality racing balaclava can improve driver and co-driver comfort. For example, it helps prevent abrasion from the movement of the racing helmet, yet it can also be washed, keeping it fresh before each race or practice lap. We also only stock well-known brands; for example, P1 balaclavas are very high-quality race balaclavas made in Italy.

Do your balaclavas have communication and drink tube holes?

It's essential, for example, after an absolutely gruelling rally stage, that the driver can take a quick sip of a refreshing drink. It's equally critical that the co-driver and driver can communicate throughout the rally stage without protective clothing, such as the balaclava, stopping the communication systems, such as microphones, from working correctly. Therefore, do check the individual product descriptions; however, we do stock a wide range of balaclavas that have a drink hole and allow for communication systems to function correctly.

What exactly is a “Nomex Balaclava”?

Nomex is a really innovative material; it's used across a wide range of safety clothing used in various motorsport applications. We stock balaclavas made by the Italian company P1, for example, a lot of the P1 balaclavas can be made from Nomex. For those who do not know what Nomex is, it is, quite simply, a fire-resistant fabric; therefore, it is widely used in racing suits and balaclavas.

Why is it essential to pay that bit extra for high-quality, breathable fabrics?

There are many low-cost racing balaclavas available to buy online. However, when it comes to essential protective clothing, such as a race balaclavas, you really want to purchase comfortable, fire-resistant fabrics. The fabrics must be completely breathable, as otherwise, on a really hot summer's day, they can become sweaty and distract you from the rally competition or motorsport event that you have entered.

We stock mainly P1, a very high-quality brand that produces its balaclavas in Italy. We also stock a wide range of Alpinestar balaclavas.
