Thompson to make BTCC debut in 2018

Reigning Milltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup Champion Bobby Thompson will race in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this year – making his rookie appearance in the Nicky Grist Motorsports-supported Jack Sears Trophy category.

The 21-year old from Hornchurch in Essex has been a Stilo user since his Cadet Karting days, and will wear a Stilo ST5 F in 2018. He will drive a Team HARD VW Passat, supported by GKR Scaffolding and its ‘Better Future’ campaign (the company’s people, innovation and community led initiative).

“To race in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship has been my dream since I began kart racing,” says Bobby. “With the continued support from GKR Scaffolding and their ‘Better Future’ programme, they have helped me turn this dream into a reality. But our journey together isn’t going to stand still now that I have achieved this goal. From the moment I signed my deal with Team HARD I have set new, higher goals and I’ll be driving to the best of my ability to get on to the podium and win the Jack Sears Trophy, a prize given to the best placed driver in each of the 30 races who has never finished on a BTCC podium prior to the start of the 2018 season.”
